From Jim Santamour, USA
Love this piece!
L let Jim explain himself:
"This is a print of a photogaph my great grand father took in the Philippines around 1900-1910. He was with the US army during its occupation after the Spanish-American war. I don't really know if her name was Ann but I know that missionaries often changed poeples names! My father's mother was an American Indian, who was baptized by French nuns in Québec and the nuns changed her name into a "christian" one"
A bit similar Jim to the story of African Americans whose names came from their slave masters. That's why Malcolm called himself "X", he refused the imposed slave name heritage.
